Left the US for Switzerland in 2000 and honestly, it was the best decision for me, the kids and quality of life.

I am a retired vet and I reside overseas. Here are my reason, Healthcare, safety, politics, money. Our politicians still have a cold war mentality. Our politicians only look for war and if they can't find it they initiate it.good example we complain about Mexico. Our government didn't help Mexico so now china help built Mexico infrastructure a win-win . China companies built in Mexico and bring goods into America. This what happen when we don't support our southern neighbors. Now the politicians are crying that China is taken care south America country.

US citizen here, 62 years old. Living in America is exhausting. Everything is war. War overseas, cold war, trade war, culture war, war on this, war on that. War forever. There has to be a better way than this.

most Americans never travel aboard, the few that does almost always goes to Western Europe, Mexico, Canada, or just tourist spots.
If more people travel to Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Russia. Americans would be enraged by how much the media and politicians lies to them about the world. other countries have modern infrastructure, cheap living expenses, public safety, clean streets, and affordable medical service that would make NYC look like a third world slum (well it is LOL)

Why leaving the US is the new "American Dream". Because staying is the new "American Nightmare". Sad but true.

I’m Irish retired in Thailand and I absolutely despise American geopolitics aka coups, sanctions, military invasions, nefarious CIA plots, etc. etc. The rest of the world has lost all respect for USA in recent decades.

American here. I moved to the Philippines 17 years ago, and I'm only 43.

Happier here. Good luck to the rest of you.

Once you go overseas, you see the US completely differently. As I did when I went to Europe in 1990. Thanks.

Do not ask what your country can do for you.
Ask what your country can do for Israel.

It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to experience it.

For boomers and senior citizens, the current market and economy are unnecessarily harder. I'm used to simply purchasing and holding assets, which doesn't seem applicable to the current volatile market, and inflation is catching up with my portfolio. My biggest concern is whether I'll survive after retirement.

I moved to the US from Hong Kong for a better life when I was 19 years old, but 50 years later I moved out from the US for a better life in the Philippines with no regrets, very affordable enjoying my wonderful family life here.

New American dream is to live out of your vehicle or leave the country.

I've liked every American I've met, the problem with the US is the people who are running the show .

American dream is if you think that life is only money.
I will not give my life and my soul for money.
America gives you money but takes your soul.

I now live in Japan. I love it. It's safe and crime is low. I never feel threatened where ever I go, day or night, drunk or sober. It's clean; not much litter. Great service without tipping. Superb public transport. Surprisingly cheap now.

We gave 160 billion to Ukraine. We could have ended the homeless problem in the USA 8 times over.

As a millennial I think about leaving the USA every day. I also accept that there are tradeoffs in doing so, but the US is turning into an unlivable place for many reasons, even if you have money.

Left the United States in early 2014, me 45, my husband 60, and son 13, for Costa Rica and have never looked back. We have been happier than ever, and such a level of peace that my health care is taken care of and won't bankrupt us.
We started in a mountainous region, and when mold became an issue for me, we just picked up and moved to the coast, not something you could do in the united states, picking up and moving just for health reasons is financially nearly impossible.

Due to some horrible experiences living in the U.S., I ended up being slightly ahead in the game.
My disgust with the U.S. hit it's boiling point years ago.
As soon as I turned 66 and started getting my Social Security, I got a passport and started figuring out where I was going to go.
I'm now in Ecuador.
I pay $350 a month for a place that would cost nearly $3000 a month in the U.S.
Perfect weather too.
In the U.S. I was suffering with high blood pressure.
No more!
Even my eye floaters cleared up.
Beautiful country.
