Anthony Perkins to me was a very handsome man. He had a an amazing career. He’s done a lot in his live, and I know his legacy will live on and on❤

Such a handsome man in his young years. So good and iconic as NB in Psycho he'll always be remembered for that.

He was brilliant as Norman Bates but I think we all know that

My mom worked in NYC for Macy’s. She worked the ties and gloves area for the men’s department.

She met Mr Perkins and Paul Newman.

She said Anthony was friendly, gracious and so very patient as she tried ringing up his charges (she was new) . Even asked with her about her life.

By contrast Paul was rude and impatient ( she wasn’t knew but they had added some new socks - which Paul was buying- and she was unsure of the cost). She said he did the “do you know who I am” and she answered “Oh yes.”

He was complaining so loudly the manager came over and he complained to the manager about my mother’s incompetence.

Manager rang his socks up and then shook her head as he walked away. “It’s sad when you meet someone you are a fan of? Who knew he was an a$$hole?”

My mom was soon pregnant with another child ( the middle child of 5) and quit that job. But she says she never forgets Paul and his “Do you know who I am?”

He was a psycho fashion photographer in the movie Mahogany, with Diana Ross and Billy D Williams. Great movie.

He really creeped me out in Psycho! His most famous role. Then I saw him in a unknown European film in which he played a bad son who sleeps with his father’s mistress. The father disowns him and cuts him off from his support. Then Perkins tries to crash his car. I forget if he crashes it or not.

Anyway, despite being tall and dark haired, the heroic or leading man romantic roles seemed to elude him. He was always playing an outcast or misfit. Still he had a good career overall. If he only had one role Psycho is a pretty powerful one to be remembered by.

It says he was gay but then married a woman and had two children. So doesn’t that make him bisexual? I think so.
RIP

Unforgettable physicality, but unfortunately few can name any other films with him. Now I have to hear his record 🎧

He was good in the role of Norman but for his own sake I kind of wish he had not taken it.
