I think China should be mentioned more on the list. The Three Kingdoms period during the 3rd century and the An Lushan rebellion in the 7th century. In both occasions China lost up to 2/3 of it's population which compared to the population of the world at the time was really a massive thing. The Taiping rebellion in the 19th century also worths mentioning.
