Trapped in a narrow tunnel | The Floyd Collins Cave Tragedy

Floyd Collins was out exploring tunnels, trying to find a new cave for tourists. A split second decision would leave him struggling for 2 weeks, squeezed in the cave tunnels. Trying to get him out was a painful series of efforts with all the resources available in 1925.

I find it interesting how the narrators of these stories always seem to know every thought, emotion and action in great detail of all the people involved. Even when someone dies alone, they know everything right up to the last moment of life.

Man mad respect to Floyd's little brother and his friend Johnny for not giving up on Floyd's hopeless situation even when all the professionals were hesitant to go into the tight part of the cave. It takes a whole lot of mental courage to do something like that. I sure hope they weren't feeling guilty of not being able to save Floyd despite it being completely out of their control 😢.
