VW is really trying to make their mark in the SUV segment of the car industry. This 2019 Atlas is here to make a statement. Under the hood a 3.6L V6 producing 276 HP 8 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the inside VW has really brought a balance to fit & finish with tons of room. Should the 2019 VW Atlas be your next SUV?

I had my eye on the Atlas but had several questions and thanks to you they were answered!
Thanks for the honesty and detailed review.
After watching this video I knew I was right. This SUV is the one for my family.

Just bought a 2019 R-Line. Right off the showroom. Took almost 7k off the sticker price. Thing is just great looks amazing. Drives like a dream. Really worth the money!

We've got a 2018 Atlas SEL 4Motion. Just about to hit 38K miles. No issues with it at all - the room is unreal for a family of 5 and the handling is top-notch in this class. Only wish I got the black wheels or the R-line.

I had a 2018 Atlas premium sel, i loved it until.... i had to bring it in for like 12 times, mostly sensor issues, roof leaking, gasoline injection pump and coolant leaking. Drove it for 30k miles, its so good on the road esp far distance ride cuz its spacious. Its like 15-17mpg in city and 19-22 on highway. I died from paying so much gasoline money. Everything else, its so nice, it does okay on the bumpers, its fast too. Oh, one incredible thing you want to know, in the curvy road i can hit 90mph i mean curvy... its planted right in, esp in rain too. Hope that helps

Best review!! I’ve been doing research about this since my family needs a spacious SUV because we travel a lot!! This is the one! 🙌🏾

I like it. Would prefer it over the Telluride and Palisade. Highlander is a close one too here.

46k for an R line Atlas and no AWD. I seriously can't understand that. AWD is standard with the Ascent and that starts around 33k.

Joe I am currently renting an Atlas V6 SE. while we really like it for the most part, I do have a few Zonks myself. Something I discovered today while the cruise was on. Of the cars I’ve owned, while in cruise mode, if you hit the minus, you coast. Not the Atlas, it brakes! Very shocking to see that happen.
Another Zonk is unlocking the car to enter. I used to be able to touch my hand by the handle to unlock it with the fob in my pocket. Now I have to use the fob to unlock it manually. Will have to read up on that in the manual.
I own an 06 Highlander (in the body shop) and the Atlas is larger in every sense. My daughter has a Yukon and it’s the same exact length as the Atlas but the Yukon of course is about 6” taller, but inside the Atlas is packaged better.

Only Zonk I can give is the wheels/grille, I think it’d look nicer with darker accents but overall great suv inside and out and even greater review

My Attorney/Accountant purchased an Atlas this Spring. Pretty nice vehicle. I agree it should have ventilated seats. Thanks for sharing it Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Raiti's Rides Would love to hear your thoughts. We picked the Hyundai Palisade over the Atlas, Ascent, Pilot, Traverse, XC90, CX-9 and Telluride. The Atlas was definitely larger, but just felt cheap compared to the Palisade. The Atlas was missing a lot of the options and technology we saw in the Palisade - heated/cooled 2nd row, USB's in 3rd row, driver talk, blind spot cameras, self-driving and more.

There are a few select of auto reviewers who when review a vehicle will let us know if the second row and third row seats recline. Please let us know for all of your reviews to come. Thanks!

Save your money, I just bought a brand new S model with a couple of goodies for $26, 922 OTD ( list was $32, 922 not including tax license title). That makes 3 in our family, 2 are TDI, s with one highly tuned and surprisingly reliable with that much power increase.

We own a SEL Atlas R-Line and we love the space. The cargo space makes it very easy for us to store our double stroller for our twins. I would have preferred for the Atlas to have more power.

Hey Joe I love all your content. I am a FORD guy and I know they are going away from there cars. It’s a shame! I have owned a GT500 and GT 5.0 Super Duty’s F-150 but the past 10 years I have had 2 Taurus SHO and still have a 14. They never promoted them! They are a BEAST! I love my 14, it’s a rocket all stock 100, 000 on it and it’s like like the day I bought it! Thank You for your channel, I watch them all

You always do a great job. I think VW gets the ride and handling balance just about perfect. They just feel right to me.

I am currently looking at one. Unfortunately I have mobility issues and need to have my wheelchair with me. The plan is to determine if it is practicable to remove the captain's seat from behind the driver's seat so as to be able to stow the wheelchair there. The local, 19335, VW dealer is doing some checking for me.
At 6' - you are not very tall says the 6'5" guy.
