My 78 yr old mother and her fiancé just boarded the Celebrity Constellation this morning, from Rome. They took a taxi from the hotel to the port, it cost $120!!! She said it was worth every penny to be taken to exactly where they needed to go. Thankfully they had a taxi driver who knew where to go and exactly where to drop them off.

That is insane, I can't believe they were able to get that far before someone noticed 😱

Oh those poor people. I hope they got their luggage back and were able to board their ship. ❤

I've never heard of THIS specifically, but I did hear plenty of stories of people who checked their bags with the wrong porters at terminal 91 in Seattle. The drop off area is between the two ships (one Celebrity and one Royal Caribbean). There were big signs over the kiosks where the porters were standing, yet many people were confused. I think it's always a good idea to ask questions, particularly if it's your first time to a port or it looks confusing. Luckily we were at the same port on the third day and were able to swap the luggage, but it was pretty nerve wracking for a couple of days and a LOT of people complained at Guest Services on both ships! 😱

Wow how absurd that they got checked in. How incompetent is this port. Great warning

Sure do pray everything worked out ok for that couple. As an older couple ourselves we always double check everything. BTW the end of your videos where you harmonize is awesome! Would love to hear you guys sing a full song. You both are Soooo cute and we loved meeting you on Celebrity Summit in Sept.

Great vlog! We were on the Beyond as well and saw you 2 in the theatre! Mt husband and I both commented on how there weren't any vlogs that ww saw on the boarding process and all that's involved...detail for detail like you have done. There are multiple checkpoints and if you've never been on a cruise, it's daunting! Glad you talked about this and hope these people got their luggage! Great job, guys!

Back in October we had 13 people in our Rome hotel . Yes, we could have cut costs and jumped through hoops to get to port. However, we wanted comfort and no hassles. We prearranged a private transfer company that delivered two 8 passenger minivans to our hotel. They loaded us up and all of our luggage which included 2 scooters and we were at the Enchanted Princess in 1 hr. 10 minutes. No hassles, no problems. It costs us 50 euros each and was worth every penny .

Great tips, our Hell was the port's train station. We followed the mass of passengers from the train down a flight of stairs with our luggage, walked a short distance only to go back up another flight of stairs, again with our luggage. Being seniors and me with a recent shoulder replacement, this was extremely challenging. It was most excellent chatting with both of you in the casino, we love to be included in future group still cruises. Thanks, you made my day.

We noticed the lack of signs too! I even asked a person who worked there if I was in the right line!

We just got off of the Beyond that day. Signage really could help that port out. But the Beyond was beyond awesome.

Embarkation day problems are my absolute nightmare - I recently had a Carnival cruise booking cancelled on embarkation day, and it was SUCH a nightmare. Thankfully, the shore office were able to help me (they apparently didn't register my payment months before...), so all ended well, but it was SO stressful!

We enjoyed meeting you two guys in the casino on the Beyond on that very cruise. It was a lovely trip, but I’m so glad we decided to take a taxi to the port. We were delivered right to our ship. But once inside the embarkation area, it was chaotic. I felt sorry for an older couple who had paid to be in the exclusive suites. Both were elderly and had mobility issues. Even after saying many times they were retreat guests, they were ignored and hold to wait.
The Chris was lovely, embarkation and honestly disembarkation were both a bit wild.
Hope to see you again on the high seas.

This is truly scary that this could happen with all the checkpoints. Just FYI I'm headed to Spain for a Transatlantic, too! I leave Saturday for a 14-night TA on Enchantment OTS, my smallest Royal ship so far. It's my 3rd TA, 2nd in 5 months, but 1st westbound. My goal has been to cruise as much as you guys and I think I'm getting there - I'm working on 9 cruises in 9 months - 2 down, 7 to go. The irony is, the more I cruise the less I can keep up with you guys but I want to let you know how much you've inspired me!

we cruised out of that port several times - we took a private car, stayed right at the port for 2 nights. been on over 89 cruises well before the covid hit, travel these days is painful and almost frightful and people are awful. lots of drinking, sneaking drugs, jumping over board. travel....

I’m so sorry this happened, what a nightmare for that poor couple. I always do carry on only, even when traveling 2plus weeks.

That is very unfortunate and I would hate to imagine this happening to my mother or anyone in general.

I’m new to your channel and I am loving your content. Keep up the great work. 🏳️‍🌈

Oh my goodness 😱 I feel for the poor elderly couple. I have a soft spot for this generation as I work with them and take care of my parents. I just can't imagine the stress and anxiety the couple must have gone through. I sure hope they safely got to the right ship on time and were reunited with their luggage.

I am sailing out of an international port for the 1st time next year with my mom and I am nervous about it. I have to make sure I am well knowledged in what I need to do and how to get there as my mom is depending on me. Will be watching a lot of your guys's video(s) on sailing out of Rome and things to do at ports.
