How to Handle a Grumpy Snake (Without Getting Bitten?)

Though I would recommend not handling them, sometimes it is necessary to pick up a defensive snake. Today we'll see how I would do it if I didn't have a snake hook (hopefully without getting bitten).

You give off the most positive vibes ever. I finally have someone to relate to when it comes to the intimidation even the tiniest snakes give off when they're ready to give a you little munch lol. I also appreciate how even and properly exposed your lighting is, way easier to enjoy a vid when there's clear effort put into the composition!

My spotted python was convinced that I was food for the longest time. After being bit enough you won't even notice it anymore.

Love your kindness, patience with this little guy. Your one of the few reptile keepers who don't just grab and rip them away from their safety enclosure just to show how them bite. So refreshing to see someone who is truly empathetic to it's movement and needs. You've just proved kindness and patience wins. Love your videos

This video made me subscribe - you're so kind and gentle with snakes, nothing like some other youtubers who tell you how to get a snake to 'submit'. Thank you for your hard work, I look forward to future videos :)

Old video, but I love that you call them “grumpy” 😊 it’s way better than calling them aggressive.

This was absolutely just such an amazing and educational video! Great for a reptile owner who needs to "tame" their pet snake. I thought that you basically either left them alone or took the brunt, it's nice to see that snakes won't attack all the time!! Keep these great videos up :)

Not gonna lie, watching this video after seeing so many of your others makes me feel so much better about myself. I have snakes but I still get apprehensive. If the snake had never given me a reason to be worried I can be confident. I do however have a childrens python who is a huge sassy pants and she makes me lose all confidence. I typically try and wear gloves and sleeves cuz feeling her bites is what makes me anxious even though it doesn’t hurt. Ugh still trying.

"When you're a noodle with a head, the world is a scary place" when holding one of the scariest types of animals in the world (snakes in general, even if this one is harmless) is a level of empathy I actively aspire to.

Oh, thank you for making this video! I'm slowly making my way through all your videos, and I have a grumpy baby corn snake I've been afraid to handle, but this is so helpful!

Greetings, I’m a time traveler from the future. I just wanted to tell you, your 3rd bite will be from a false water cobra you ordered. Do with this information as you will.

I was playing with my new baby corn snake while this video was playing (Iwhich he is not grumpy), and at the end, i saw you doing the figure eight, so i did it as well, lol. I am greatly appreciative that I now have a corn snake, and a blue tongue skink!

I love your content! Thanks for this video. I rescued a honduran milksnake from a very bad situation and I've been trying to build trust with her, so this info is really helpful.

This was SO helpful! Our little snake bit me for the first time and I was so offended. This video is really helpful in seeing how to grab him by the tail and slowly move with him. He'd never bit me before but he was definitely looking at me and giving me grumpy signals. I'm also gonna get a snake hook. lol
