The injective function is also known as the one-to-one function. If the mapping from one non-empty sets to another non-empty set is such that for each element there is only one element mapped and vice versa, then it’s one to one. Often the distinction of continuous and discrete is missed by the students.
This question clarifies the confusion when to analyse the function for discrete and continuous domain or codomain.
What is an injective function in discrete math?
