I just started 12 different tomatoes (NJ) and was telling myself I was insane: No one can use that many tomatoes! Then Laura plants 26 and suddenly I feel vindicated! 🤪

26 varieties?! Ever had a tomato sandwich? A true Southern delight! Soft white bread, mayo, salt and pepper with a big slab of tomato. The BEST part of gardening! 🍅🍞😋 Can't wait!

Thanks to you Laura, I went from having 6 cherry tomato plants two years ago to 12 different varieties last year. And this year I sowed 22 varieties. I can't stop, when I was ordering the seeds I saw such fun varieties that I couldn't resist trying them out. Last year was my therapy, I keep my tomatoes pruned to just 1 stem, so every day when I came home from work I would go to the vegetable garden and I would prune some of the tomatoes and tie them, and after that i felt much better, my mental health improved considerably in the season. My father has always planted tomatoes and he has his tricks, thanks to you last year I spent a lot more time with him learning and also teaching him what I was learning with you. At the end of the year we found out that he had lung cancer, and then having those moments with him during the year to exchange ideas meant even more to me and made me even more grateful for having this time with him. Love from Portugal 🇵🇹

The smell of the tomato vines in the garden is the best. It’s like a natural healing therapy that gives a happy feelings .

You have passed me in varieties, last year I grew 22…….I love to have people over for a tomato tasting, along with different salts, it always amazes people at how different each tomato can taste when trying at the same time.

I grew the Spoon tomato last year and boy did it produce! So many lovely, delicious little itty bitty tomatoes and my son loved picking them and eating them right off the plant so I can attest to kids loving them 😊

Good Morning! I have a story - I married into a farm family, the first year of our marriage we shared a garden with my husband's parents. When you talked about all these varieties of tomatoes it brought a memory - I was used to my Mom growing 1 or 2 tomato plants - well my in laws planted 26 tomato plants!! As a young newly married girl, I was in shock at the mass quantity of plants! But I quickly learned that not only were those tomatoes were eaten fresh but we canned jars & jars & jars of tomato juice for sauce! That first year of marriage was a learning experience for me on being a farm wife! Love listening to all the varieties of tomatoes!! 🙂👩‍🌾🍅🌿

As for stuffing a tomato, my mom loves to stuff the varieties that are more hollow on the inside with tuna or chicken salad. Then you can cut it with a knife and fork and get bites of your salad with tomato.

Bought my metal shelve, enough grow lights for 3 shelves, planted 3 -72 cell flats and I’m off and running! Thanks Laura and Aaron . Your videos gave me the knowledge and confidence to go for it!

Laura, I stuff my tomatoes with a ground beef and rice mixture, very much like a cabbage roll stuffing, very delicious! 😊
Should add, i hallow out the tomato and dice up the meaty part and add to beef, rice and onion mixture, once stuffed add a thin layer of tomato sauce and sprinkle of cheese if you like and bake

Hi Laura, I just wanted to thank you for all you do. You have given me the courage to do so much this past year. In 2020 I made the decision to leave a stressful job, sell my house, in Arizona, and buy a farm on 20 acres outside of Springfield Missouri. I closed escrow on my dream farm in August 2021. I've yearned for years to be surrounded by flowers and trees and grow my own veggies. As I watch your videos I get the courage to repot my orchids, and divide my old African violets. I planted 350 bulbs in November and we dug out a 4, 000 sf garden area for my veggies and a cut flower garden. I bought a bunch of seeds and grow lights and am enjoying starting my own plants. It's so exciting to get up each morning to see what has sprouted! I bought 5 hydrangeas yesterday on the clearance rack (they didn't sell for Valentine's Day). I brought them home and repotted them and will plant them in a month or so. I'm in the process of clearing out a forest area that hasn't been cleared for years, and am so excited to have my first ever shade gardens. I used to be afraid of now knowing enough to do this, but after watching you every day, you've given me the courage to just go for it. I'm sure I'll have successes and failures and I realize that it's a learning process and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I've watched all of your garden tours over and over, and am taking notes of plants I hope to have someday. Now that I've retired I have lots of time and not much money so it will probably take a few years to see my gardens really take shape, but what fun! Thanks again! thought I was being wild buying 5 different types of tomato seeds! You always bring a smile to my face!!!

Good morning from NC! Love starting the mornings with a dose of Garden Answer. Your channel is one of my first stops when researching new additions. Then, I watch the past garden tours to catch a glimpse of how those plants performed. Any thoughts about creating plant specific videos with updates? For example, a video focusing on all the oso easy roses you’ve planted and how they are doing would be very helpful. Can’t wait to see the cut flower garden with the new shed this year - it will be glorious!

I was so proud of myself. Got everything to start my vegetable garden from seed. One big thing I forgot was the tags for my cells. But great excuse to go back to garden center. Thank you Laura for inspiration. Gets me through the days especially taking care of my 97 year father which has become very challenging lately.

Appreciate the lesson on the difference between Heirloom, Hybrid, Determinate, Indeterminate, etc. I feel I can shop now for tomatoes and not be overwhelmed by all the choices! I have a small garden and want to get the best yield for my space. Your enthusiasm always gets me excited to start trying something new in my garden! Have a blessed day! 🍅 💚

Laura could you do a repeat of this video reviewing the success/failure rate, taste etc?. It would be nice to compare and see how each of the 26 varieties did. Thank you

I am excited for tomatoes! One of the best things about gardening! Always a way to grow SOMETHING. Even if all you have is a pot on a patio! 💚💚💚

Dr. Wyche’s is actually one of my favorites. I actually got a 1.5 lb tomato last year.
I’m so excited for my garden this year. I get to start my seeds in a couple weeks.

Good morning from Switzerland, enjoying learning about unknown (to me) tomato varieties from GA while having my after lunch coffee. I would happily take any of the varieties presented here and wouldn’t mind wether they are determinate, semi or that they grow up to the level of my roof😅
Thanks for sharing.
