'The Hill' headed down into Bella Coola

From 6,000' Heckman Pass, the road drops down to sea level and into Bella Coola. It's 61km of dirt, about 15km of which had been treated with magnesium chloride for dust control (aka 'snot') - which is surprisingly slippery. A fall here in this remote country could have serious consequences - a broken clutch lever or shift lever could require a tow.

Ah, 'tis the Vic - great for everything but the dirt sections, where the KLR would have been just the thing. And, honestly, if I had to have just ONE bike - it would be the KLR. Or a GS ... :)
