Nah bro, dark meat all the way. Bone-in, skin-on dark meat!

10 pound bags of leg quarters is my favorite! Usually on sale for 33 cents a pound! Vacuum seal two quarters together and they keep in the freezer practically forever! If you freeze, and sprinkle with a dry rub or dry marinade, then seal, as they thaw they marinade in a vacuum sealed bag!

I've never ever bitten into a chicken leg that was too tough. Everybody must be accidentally cooking it right.

My go to is the thighs. Boneless, skinless or bone in. Great flavor!

This lady just blew right by the wings, go to a supermarket and stare at the price of chicken wings, you will see that on average is the most expensive thing to buy because it’s usually sold in different variations from multi packs to big frozen bags at Walmart or BJ’s. It’s consumed in great quantity at occasions such as weddings, graduations, the Super Bowl, as well as Labor Day

The breast is the "filet" of the chicken. It is the most nutrient dense with the highest percent of protein per pound. It also is the leanest cut of the chicken in fat percentage. It is not the "worst" cut.
I prefer the darker cuts of meat because they are cheaper, have higher fat content for flavour and versatility in cooking.
It all depends on what you look for in your chicken.

I've never understood why chicken breasts (white meat) is so popular. It's dryer and has less flavor than dark meat like thighs or legs. I did some Google research into this. It all goes back to the health craze that started in the 1980s. The public was constantly told "eat white meat, it's healthier!". This indoctrination took hold and Americans started to prefer this dryer less tasty cut. There may be truth to the health claim, but so what. That doesn't deny the fact that chicken breast is the inferior cut when it comes to taste and juicyness. I know what some will say, that flavoring the breast with herbs and spices makes it good. Again, does not change the fact that it is dryer snd has less flavor. But we need to watch out for our hearts some then will say. Again, so what. Food is meant to be enjoyed. People have been completely brainwashed to "prefer" white meat. BTW, same goes for turkey. Every Thanksgiving all my family members go for the white meat. Fine, eat dry flavorless turkey, more superior dark meat for me.

The supermarket I shop at sells whole rotisserie chicken for less than whole raw chicken. Makes no sense to me.

Thighs are the best cut, especially bone in skin on. You can crisp them up, the skin renders out delicious fat you can use to sauté vegetables and spices in, and they’re really hard to overcook. Unless you let it totally dry out, thigh meat will just keep getting more tender for quite awhile as you cook it in a sauce or some kind of stew. As opposed to breasts, which will rapidly dry out and become mealy, not succulent, when overcooked.

I regularly purchase leg quarters (legs, thigh) for $.69 a pound.

If you think chicken is cheap try shopping at Whole Foods. Fresh wings are the most expensive parts where I am at $3.99 a pound.

The thigh is by far the best piece of chicken so damn good on the grill

I hate all the connective tissue in chicken legs. Breast, thigh and wings all day.

Buy a whole chicken and break it down yourself. Problem solved by logic.

being in the meat end of the grocery business for over 30 years, , , , I can honestly say that thighs are rapidly catching up with breasts as the favorite chicken part

I usually get a 10 pound bag of chicken leg quarters every month and just Google recipes and am never bored😊

I’ve never heard of a chicken quarter referred to as a chicken “leg”. The leg and the thigh of the chicken are two different parts. Did I miss something?
