I love people who are so deeply passionate about what they do. Great video, very inspiring for me as a student of religious studies and aspiring anthropologist (even though that's quite a different field)

I have been to Israel and going to the Dead Sea and seeing the scrolls in Jerusalem is an amazing experience.

Sadly, some of the caves has empty jars and pickaxes in them, which means they were raided and their contents taken by someone else.

Wow! The thrill of finding something 2000 years old in condition good enough to read must be awesome! And have a writing system and alphabet that hasn't changed since so long so one can read it in the present must be amazing! Prof. Stiebel shows the sincere excitement of a true scientist that loves his discipline. Awesome!

4:25 — “If you study your past, in a way you study yourself...” — No truer words said.

Thanks for the mini capsul of history and the passionated narrative. Just one remark, the scrolls were kept in jars not in a box as it is showed in the cartoon ; )

Is this real? How did they write so perfectly back then? I can barely write my paragraphs in a line now.

I'm pretty sure the Scrolls were placed in clay pots, not wooden boxes!

There’s a reason why in those scrolls Isiah 53 was found cuz it’s the prophecy of Jesus. That is not a coincidence.

It's amazing to see how, in three centuries of European tumb raiding and treasure hunting in the region, nobody found the scrolls until 2 years after the recognition of Israel as a nation...Truly unbelievable...smh
