A group of Japanese activists took to the streets in the western Japanese city of Hiroshima on Friday (May 19) to protest against the G7 leaders' summit and nuclear war.

Protesters said their ire was sparked by a meeting of leaders of several nuclear-armed powers, including the United States, in a city that was devastated by the world’s first atomic bombing in 1945.

The G7 summit runs from Friday to Sunday (May 19-21), in which member country leaders are expected to discuss a possible tightening of sanctions on Russia, and security concerns about China, among other issues.

The US need to reflect on it's history of what it did to Japan and try to avoid a repetition of history. Japan should also refrain from war mentality and follow the established international law on which it is abide to. Japan should reflect on what lead to the nuclear instance and try to be ambassador of peace

We enter this world head first; that is why we put the head stone on a grave
This summit reminds us that if we have to, if we must reenter this world, we must reenter head first.
