To re-enable the sound on a system with Catalina or earlier, enter this command in the Terminal:
sudo nvram StartupMute=%00
Then reboot your Mac, and enjoy!

To turn it off again, enter this command in the Terminal:
sudo nvram StartupMute=%01
Then reboot your Mac.

I have a performa 6400 and it actually has the older bong I think mactracker has it as having the newer iMac G3 to 2015 bong but it doesn't

I have noticed with the Power Macintosh 5200, it has a similar sound to the new Mac Start-Up Sound with Macs with the T2 security chip (Typing this comment on a 13" 2018 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and Touch ID which has the T2 security chip).
