i was born in 2000 and my parents had a mac computer when i grew up. not sure which kind but i remember being terrified by the startup sound. i would hide whenever they turned the computer on. now it just sounds nostalgic. (but it still kinda scares me)

Actually the Macintosh XL did not have a startup sound. In addition, the SE/30 and PowerBook 100 actually use the same startup sound as the Macintosh II, the Classic uses the same startup sound as the original Macintosh, the PowerBook 500 series use the same startup sound as the Quadra 700 (unless PowerPC upgraded), and the PowerBook G3 Kanga and Power Macintosh 5500, 5400, G3 minitower, G3 desktop and G3 all-in-one use the same startup sound as the 9500.
