Your "problem" only exists if you assume that “eternal life” is only promised to humans of a certain level of development. However, this is not Judeo-Christian belief. Rather, salvation affects ALL creation. That's why Isaiah 65, 17 and 25 says:

“See, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
...
The wolf and the lamb will feed together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox,
and dust will be the serpent’s food.

They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain, "
says the Lord...

When biblical text is *ultimately proven to be false or scientifically unworkable, * all of a sudden it becomes a parable, a metaphor, an allegory, hyperbole or a rhetorical statement.

I think evolution totally disproves christianity. The fact that we had no choice in developing sapience and morality means the “fall” of mankind never happened. The fact death and suffering existed before we come into the picture disproves any christian idea that sin caused these to enter the world.

I have such a hard time listening to Alex talking about the Bible. He takes every phrase literally.

I’ve struggeled my entire life with that issue too and finally found JBP’s more psychological approach to the books in the Bible. This approach is serving me so much better.
How can the claims “our world has becone more secular” and “every word in the Bible is literally true” co-exist in his view?

If we evolved from all those things. Shouldn’t there be fossils to back it up?

The problem with this argument is that it is actually only a problem for Western Christians. In Eastern Orthodoxy, all creatures have souls and will be judged in accordance to their capability to uphold the moral law. Humans just uniquely have developed noetic faculty which is what makes us in God's image.

Ok as a Christian. I believe God created science. God works in and through science. However as a creator God is not bound to sciences laws. Evolution is a mind boggler however there's so so many other cases in the bible supported by factual science. Where suddenly a theory, hence the name theory seems a lot smaller. Now God also gave us the ability to adapt. And I definitely believe we looked and had physiological differences at the dawn of time. We may have had ape like features at the dawn of time. Hence the presence of tge appendix which serves no functjon in modern society as an example

But we definitely were conscious. And apes may have had a similar physiological makeup to prehistoric humans. But we have evidence of dolphins and cats also having a similar homosapien makeup. So regardless the similarities if anything shows proof of one creator. The differential makeup of humans sets us aside from those makeups. And our cognitive and even physiological differences and abilities. God is the common ancestor. We were made in his image. He crafts organisms in his laws. However we have specific differences that sets us apart from what seems in the ordinary organism. And even scientifically there's so much unknowns to the dawn of time. What we should be resting on is the 9 other times with specific factual evidence that the bible is true. Compared to the start of humanity billions of years ago that is uncertain. But there is early historical documenting of what happened. Recorded in the bible. In Genesis. And even that one time isn't untrue. It just has mystery around it. And we have found out that in every other case the mystery behind God has proved accurate to the bible through science. It is true. Science just has partial answers.

As a muslim. I dont see why one could believe god created the entire universe but couldn't put the human spirit into an ape like being. I mean if that sounds irrational to you try reasoning where the universe comes from. From nowhere it suddenly existed? That sound way more silly to me

Evolution leaves just as many questions as Christianity. The problem is evolution can’t answer them.

"There's no point at which a chimpanzee stood next to a human". Did I hear that right?

I don’t see how this is a problem. He explained everything pretty well. I think he’s hung up on how certain animals have privileges over others. Well, if you study a little Buddhism and Hinduism, you can see how no animal is outside the realm of their own spiritual evolution. We change energetic form from life to life. Sometimes up, sometimes down, sometimes lateral. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. And at some level, all consciousness is unified so no man woman or beast is ever “left out”. Alex’s problem is he’s always debating from a fundamentalist evangelical point of view. There’s more to an infinite God than just the Bible.

I absolutely can and will say that God drew a line.

Might seem strange, but the definition of humanity goes beyond stuff like Biology.
