Did You Know In HARRY POTTER…

There are several elements in the wizarding world that are actually a metaphor for mental illness and the struggles that come with it! One example is the Dementors, dark creatures that feed on human happiness. These are thought to symbolize depression and anxiety. Just like how Dementors can drain the happiness out of a person, depression and anxiety can also drain the joy and positivity out of someone's life. Another example is the basilisk, a giant serpent that can kill with a single glance. This creature appears to symbolize the overwhelming and destructive power of fear. Just like how the basilisk can strike fear into the hearts of those who see it, fear can also have a powerful and destructive impact on our lives.
