As a proud Wisconsinite, this made my day! I’m also impressed that you did well pronouncing the city names. A lot of people butcher them 😂

I live here in Wisconsin, along the lake in Sheboygan. The amount of fresh water beneath the landmass is massive. I could totally see underground caverns filled with fresh water. And in the are of devil's lake there are a lot of rock formations exposed from the last ice age

Great job on this video, Ben! I am a third generation Wisconsinite and yes, we have more to offer than beer and cheese! I liked your inclusion of Rock Lake near Lake Mills. Mysterious pyramids have been found in that lake and is near "Aztalan" where an ancient people created pyramid mounds and an extinct city where human sacrifice is believed to have been practiced. One well known cryptid group are the trolls found in various settlements. Mt. Horeb is known as the "troll capital of the world!" Did I mention that we drink a lot here in Wisconsin?

The spirit chickens cracked me up! We moved into this place just over a year ago, and it came with a ghost dog and a few ghost cats. Even our guests have opened the door 'for the dog' when he scratches and woofs. It's a one story home, but last winter, we heard all kinds of noise from 'upstairs'. Turns out, it used to be a two story house ;D
Edit to add: I vote for Oregon and West Virginia.

I grew up in Wisconsin, when I was younger, I read about Haunchyville. It always gave me the creeps...some real children of the corn type I hardly ever see anyone talk about it. :( for sadness

Yes! Hodag! My aunt lives in Rhinelander so I'm super excited to see her town mascot mentioned. Real or not it's a fascinating creature that more people should know about.

I was bow and arrow hunting near levis wisconsin, on the Eve of A 20+ in he snowfall.I was on the edge of a corn feild, standing about 3 rows of corn in, when along came this huge ( I thought it was a huge buck, ) but when I drew back and let the arrow fly, it smack loudly, instantly the ??? What ever it was, started screaming, like a human.!!!!it ran back into the woods, and up a hill, screaming the hole time, I looked, and looked for whatever it was, but never found out.even looked days after, for it.but came up with nothing!!!

Thanks for including my painting at 16:35. I've done lots more paintings of the hodag according to my sightings as an avid winter skier and outdoorsman. Cool stories of "True Myth".

I was not expecting Seymour to be on this list. I grew up there and I have never heard of the ghost chickens.

After the arrow hit it, it stood up on its back legs, and ran back into the thick brush.screaming, blood curdeling, deep into the storm, I felt bad for whatever it was, , we looked, and looked, for bones in the spring, to no avail, !!
