for anyone with just a straight bar zercher carries are good. next best is behind the back. just choose a grip width that puts your bar above or below your bootycheeks.

I did a strongman comp once for shits and gigs and the only event I won was farmers walk (got last in every other event 😂). I may buy a pair of these for my home gym bc I have a decent backyard

I was a "no straps" guy for a long time (personal ego). I loved how farmers worked my grip but as I am getting older overuse injuries in my forarms happen fast! I started using straps on my farmers right at the end of when I trained them last, about a year ago. It cleared up so many problems it was insane.

I used to think the rounding of the shoulders and slumping was all weakness in my upper back and core. It was actually my body compensating for my grip.

I was going to get back into it because of Bromley, as well. But I was going to go strapless until grip becomes an issue and then strap up.

I might give this a try for doing suitcase carries with the dumbbells available to me. 💪

Had a bit of time after my session today and instead of doing some BB stuff decided to try these for a bit of cardio.

I know what you mean about the arms also made me feel a lot lighter on the walk home!

I bought my own farmers walk handles just so I could do farmers walks. I just recently started doing my first lap with straps, then hitting the second lap without them, after that I do front carries. Because I got Bromley'd into doing it just like you.
Doing them strapped was immediately provocative.
Ive been struggling to get bodyweight in each hand for 300 yards, I think if I can smooth out the walk with heavier weights strapped, I will move smooth enough to finally pr without straps. The thing killing my grip is stepping too heavy when I get tired, as well as too much movement from breathing. Thats actually kinda funny because when I started training farmers walks, the first thing I noticed was it became much easier to breathe without destabilizing myself on squats, and overhead. Now that Ive gotten stronger at them that is the thing fuckin with me again. But I digress, I think going with straps is going to help me get better at going without straps.

what a coincidence; started light farmers walks for the first time recently, unstrapped 70lb kb's, in 98 degree heat, 10min for distance, first go, super easy 300yd, 2nd week, 400yd, (a bit tougher) this week 450yd, wonder if I can get to 880yd (half mile) in my 10min time cap; who knows, next up is 460-490ish... then switch to the grip-biased dumbells, there's 80's, 90s and 100s available at the outside 50yd course where I train, game the game, rest your thumb/index against the bell to impede rotation/dropping...

This makes me want to try at my gym with dumbells, because no farmers handles and also just because it just looks way too chad imo.

Training to carry the groceries in one trip.
