I come back to this sketch year after year because it is perfect. A simple idea, laser focused on the joke, with no wasted motion. The escalation starts slow but then goes so over the top, but somehow the core simple idea never gets lost: these boys are worried they may have lost their roots and need to prove they are true brothers. All comedy starts with pain and here it’s that underlying insecurity that powers the sketch. I love how at the end they show them eating the food, gagging, but pretending it’s good. These characters will never admit that they moved on from their roots.

Some of the best parts are the non-verbal, rivalry stares they give each other as the other is changing their orders. The acting chemistry between these two is off the charts.

The genius of this is I don't know when the skit turns to not real food
