That was like having your favorite crazy uncle teach you how to taste whiskey! LOL. Awesome.

All by EAR. I once heard Joe on the radio explaining open E tuning. He finished by saying "And that's how I became a Millionaire at 24."

THIS IS SIMPLY A PHENOMENAL VIDEO....I LOVE JOE WALSH'S SENSE OF HUMOR..HIS PLAYING IS JUST GROUNDBREAKING...ESPECIALLY FOR THE EARY 1970'S....
I LOVE THE WAY HE COMES ACROSS..
ESPECIALLY THE "FORGIVE., JIMMY" REMARK...

I'm not even a guitarist and I found this enlightening. You get to see a master at work. Any focus on tone is worthwhile. And nifty insight into a classic riff. Great stuff.

hats off to the man, he successfully battled a lot of personal demons, a truck load of tasty solos over the years, humorously animated, humble guy, ovation still standing

The Master himself. My respect and admiration for Joe Walsh knows no bounds. I saw him on the recent Eagles tour and he is playing as great as ever. Even though he's played the same tunes thousands of times over and over, he sounded fantastic. He still puts on a fabulous show and is a huge fan favourite.

just watched all 6 tutorials. was lucky enough to see james gang back in the day. what Mr Walsh did on the "james gang rides again" album is classic and was way ahead of it's time. I've followed his career since the late '60s and I've noticed that whether drinking a beer one on one with a new friend in fairbanks or standing in front of 50, 000 people he has maintained "self". While having reached the pinnacle of success in his chosen field he has chose to remain the ordinary average guy. thx Joe

never noticed that note in Whole Lotta Love! wow, that sounds great, Joe. i really love a tip like that, I'll try using that doubled note now all the time, cool trick.

Joe Walsh has become one with the guitar, what a talent. Like the way they shot this raw, it looks surreal given all the “reality” tv.

I swear this is the best tutorial I have EVER watched.  You know your stuff Joe!  You know not only the mechanics, but the playability.  I learned the overtone method of tuning also.  Joe Walsh...you never cease to amaze me.  If people call you a goofball, they just don't get you.  One of the top guitarists ever. Great job.
