It's just like "The Game of Life". That is so fun and fascinating.

Used to have a fractal generator on a computer years ago.
I remember those images zooming in.
I was easily pleased back then! 😁

That last statement trips up so many people. Our existence is due to that very simple fact 😊

Yeah we were high out of our everloving minds on LSD at a Grateful Dead Show in California when first these images appeared on little postcard size prints in full colour...! Now they're Everywhere...! The graphics are betond stunning now as the motion is so very involved...the high definition images swirling into meaningless infinity forever...
Beautiful...

For many people in the UK, our first introduction to the Mandelbrot set was via the BBC Micro in the early 80’s, this was part of the Welcome tape[!!]. Of course I was too young to understand the significance then, but the time it took to render it made it somehow seem important. And it looked so cool when it was done.

To me it's similar to my 60s childhood understanding of space and limited to mostly our galaxy. Then Sagan expanded my view to the "billions and billions" of other solar systems making me feel miniscule. What our telescopes show us today is truly amazing.

I have a beautiful blouse with this pattern. One day a lady came up to me while I had it on and asked if I knew I was wearing the Mandelbrot equation. So I had to look it up and learn more about it and watch the mesmerizing patterns.

Many happy hours have I spent, playing with fractint, the fractal generation software from the stone soup group.

Emergent properties are some of the most difficult to understand, such as consciousness. But it's worth spending years and decades meditating to understand them.

It reminds of of Liminal Spaces where everything is in recognizable transition; there is no ending and no safety but they’re is a mesmerizing relaxation in knowing nothing really stops; it’s all just paced

And this looks like that but in math form and like the backs of your eyelids

Fascinating

What has a finite area but infinite perimeter? Is how I always rationalize the irrational shapes my eyes are perceiving.

Please tell "It's possible for complex phenomena to emerge from very very simple rules" to creationists, I think they need to hear it. 😂

Yes, Mandelbrot sets are related to fractal images because the boundary of a Mandelbrot set is a fractal:

Mandelbrot set
A mathematical set of points in the complex plane that forms a fractal. It's considered the most famous fractal and object in modern mathematics.

Fractal images
In fractal analysis, complexity is how a pattern's detail changes with scale. The Mandelbrot set is a source of inspiration for artists and has been featured in many places, including paintings, compositions, and fiction.

A kaleidoscope version works well for children. Mandelbrot.

It's called a fractal.

A universe, a brain, cosmology, nature, etc.

Ultimate Simplicity is emptiness, nonbeing, undifferentiated oneness.

That contains the rules, for if it does not exist there must be rules to things that do.

Generative environments in games owe everything to fractals. It's really interesting. Also how fractals mirror life, in shapes and stuff (e.g. that "famous" broccoli picture etc)
