For those who say Google Pay and Apple Pay is automatically available everywhere...

Here in the UK everywhere who accepts card payments also accept contactless and Apple/G Pay. There's not many retailers left who haven't upgraded their payment terminals now.

No problem in Australia Liron. All the acquirers, take all payments, not too sure why anyone would ask the merchant if they accept them, we just use it. Like the UK we've had contactless for a long time. Have been using the wallets since inception, best way to go. BUT then again I always take my real wallet with me just in case!

In India, every store accepts mobile payments; thanks to the UPI payment scheme.

Here in Europe I've been using Google Pay for months now and I haven't come across any place that didn't accept it. Even the tiny corner store who's terminal is like 5+ years old worked with Gpay.

Here in Greece 99% of the stores who accept card payments accept Apple Pay or Google pay as well.

I have used Apple Pay in countries where it is not available yet, most of the time I was able to use it even if the cashiers said I can't. I just say I'll pay by paywave, contactless or whatever they call it locally and just use my phone or watch and it always works. I think many cashiers are just not aware.

I've been in the UK and Paris and Apple Pay was widely used even in street vendors. It's ironic that here in the US, many merchants including the big ones does not support it considering Apple and Google are here.

In Malaysia, the mobile payments are accepted every where. Even in the smallest vendor in a market. Because in Malaysia we do bank transfer (no cost, immediate transfer-no delays), mobile QR payment and NFC method payment. I would say mobile payments in Asia is quite advanced compared to the European or American counterpart. I would have no reasons to carry my wallet around nowadays.

Here in Australia everywhere accepts NFC or tap to pay, even in remote outback communities, asking if they support google/Apple pay is the wrong question, ask if you can tap to pay with a card instead because then apple/google pay just works

Everywhere in UK supports mobile nfc. But I guess it’s because we’ve had contactless with cards for so long.

Very informative video, thank you. I've been using Google Pay for a couple of years now and I love it. Here in Australia, it's pretty much accepted everywhere. I find it more secure for the reason you said, my phone needs to be open to use it and only I can open my phone. I still carry my wallet with me though, mainly because of my Driver's license (digital licenses are still on trial here and I haven't been invited yet) Also, I like to carry a bit of cash on me, in case I need it. Another good reason to use Phone payments is it saves wear and tear on your card, they last longer.

I don't use a mobile wallet, essentially because I don't always have my phone with me. I regularly leave my phone at home (mostly because of forgetfulness) but my wallet is like my keys - I never go anywhere without them. When I don't have my wallet and keys I feel slightly naked, but I don't have that feeling when I'm out and about without my phone.

In Spain I haven't come across any place that hasn't accepted apple pay, from taxis, buses, restaurants, shops (large and small), supermarkets etc etc, been using it as my main payment method since about 2017!

My bank Android application allows me to bind Master Card to it and pay with the phone, but not via GPay or Apple Pay, but via bank's own app.

Australia here.. I do not own a wallet. Have not carried a credit card in maybe 5 years... if a store takes any form of card, Apple/Google/Garmin/Fitbit whatever payment just works.

Almost everywhere I go in Canada accepts my apple pay since 2018 😅 every time I go to the US, I’m still shocked how many stores don’t accept apple pay

Seattle - mobile pay is pretty ubiquitous here. I carry a physical card with me in case I run into Fred Flinstone.

The thing that holds me back from not using Apple Pay is the fact that I only have a debit card so if I for some reason had to cancel the card it would be a pain, but if I had to cancel a credit card I would not have a problem with it because it is not hard to replace if needed and would not impact me in any way .

It's an American issue, pretty much any other country doesn't have this issue. It took us ages to just get a chip on our cards, let alone stores that accept it.
