2026 Toyota Supra is Getting a V8 – Finally!

From my understanding, this isn't or won't be a road legal Supra, but instead is intended specifically for the SuperCars Championship w/rules and regulations that require it to have the V8 in order to compete. - cars in the Supercars Championship must run a normally-aspirated V8.

Let the GSE HAVE A BREAK, great engine noise don’t get me wrong, but I want Toyota to invest in a great bulletproof v8 that is new. It’s been around since 2008. I have 2016 RCF, no problems mechanically, but the engine in my car is going to be 10 years old in 2026.

Sumnjam u ovo... Osim zvuka, ta V8- ica ne nudi ni jedan drugi razlog zbog kojeg bi zamijenila 6 cilindarski turbo motor. A niti ima mjesta ispod poklopca za takav motor.

Please cite your sources. If this is the new GR GT3 they’ve been testing, I’m Supra disappointed. What happened to the twin turbos? What about the Lexus model? why not just drop in the new v6 from the lc500 with better turbos bolt ons and a tune? This can’t be life.


Edit: it’s true but only in Australia and I don’t think it will be sold for road going use. And it’s not a gt3, It’s a supercar

Just replicate the 2jz or at least I twin turbo i6 and at least 2.8-3.2 litres of displacement with forged pistons rods and crankshaft
