Toyota is sticking with the Supra for a new generation. However, it looks like they're keeping BMW out of the equation this time around. What does this mean for the powertrains? What does it mean for the future? Here's the latest information from Japan.

If its a 4cylinder then it should be a Celica.

I think lacking a 6 cylinder is going to seriously hurt this car. It’s part of the Supra’s identity.

Toyota has been bullied into making an all-Toyota Supra😂. Maybe they'll get Yamaha to help with the engine again making it a Toyota-Yamaha Supra.

I don’t mind turbo and hybrid Supra but I hope it’s not a 4cyl only. Hopefully they add a 6cyl as well because the Supra deserves a 6.

If the 4 cylinder has to be killed off due to low demand, why is a 4 cylinder going to make it better 😅

In Australia, for our 2026 V8 Supercar racing series, we are going to have 5L V8 Supras racing against Mustangs and Camaros. And Toyota seriously doesn’t want to come second.

To anyone who is watching this vid: as a Japanese person, I can assure that Best Motor is not a credible medium whatsoever. Please do NOT take any of the information in this vid as the truth.
I think I mentioned this before, but Best Motor is not taken seriously in the automotive industry here in Japan by spreading unconfirmed/fake rumours. Almost all of the information about next gen cars in this magazine does not have any credible sources, and are just half-baked wishful thinkings of the writer which should not be taken seriously. Even some of the grammar and the Kanji characters in Japanese is wrong because it is not proofread by anyone. That is how bad the quality of this magazine is.
Even if (a BIG if) Toyota is going to come up with the next Supra, it's going to be something very different to what is written here (which is usually what happens with other newly released cars as well).

So sick of the US missing out on great small cars. Why does everything need to be over-sized here? Great video as always!

Honest opinion did anyone really have a problem with bmw? I mean the B58 is the best engine on the market rn aside from maybe the s58. The ZF transmission aswell is the best on the market too.

Lexus needs the exclusivity of the LFR. You regularly mention that Lexus just has hand me downs from Toyota and now you want them to share the LFR.

People keep telling me there are no ev mandates yet carmakers need to acomodate more and more electrification to comply. How is it not a mandate?

Fun fact, Toyota Racing put a 4 cylinder in the GT500 Mk4 Supra to compete in JGTC which is why the chassis is the known chassis.

That magazine article is referring to the Celica it will have 400hp i4. The next gen Supra will return to a Toyota designed twin turbo inline 6 essentially 2 x 1.6 liter 3 cylinder mounted together. The target hp is 600hp & there will also be a new MR2. But it has not been green lighted to be sold in NA market yet.

I can’t wait for the MKIV fanboys who hated the MKV to complain about how the MKVI has a 4 cylinder and just not the same feeling.

It would be great if they bolted 2 G16E-GTS's together to make a 3.2L straight 6 making 600 hp

I really want Toyota to put the 5.0 from the LCF in the supra from the factory! Just like the boys down under did! Props to those guys!

If all these "sports" cars are gonna have 4 cyl hybrid motors, count me out. I'd rather get the corvette.
