In the books, Kong’s parents were killed by a pack of Skullcrawlers during Kong’s Mom giving birth to Kong. And the Internet has some theories about why Kong gets so big. Maybe because of radiation exposure, most of Kaiju got bigger and stronger after some sort of radiation feeding tho(Kong’s parents may not get radiation feed enough to be as big as Kong)

The “big one” never actually woke up. The biggest one wiped out kongs parents. Who were almost double kongs size at this point. Kong was only about 13 in human years in this movie which was 50 years ago. And the big crawler from the movie I just another one of the regular ones that had more time to grow. There’s also a toy that was released of a giant one called the skull devil that’s way bigger than the skull island version of kong. I hope they bring the biggest one to a future movie. If not king vs Godzilla, maybe the NEXT kong movie. And kong recognizes it and gets ptsd. And they make it HUGE

I’m also starting to think that “the big one” in this movie wasn’t the one the iwwi’s were talking abt when Kong goes. Think abt it, in the scenes we’ve had, it’s almost confirmed Kong is gonna be off island. And since the islanders say that “once he goes and the big one comes up” they could be referring to another. In the leaked toys, there’s a giant skull crawler, and if I were a betting man I’d guess that one would be bigger than the big one in the 1970’s. But that’s just me
