If you've ever prepared ginger, then you know the worst part is peeling the ginger. Either you cut away way too much and lose a lot of the ginger, or you don't do it at all.

But in this video I want to show you a trick how to peel ginger really easy and fast. All you need is a spoon.

Because with a spoon, the peeling of the ginger really works the easiest. You just have to rub the spoon over the ginger and the peel is scraped off so well that little of the ginger is lost.

And you can even get into smaller corners perfectly with the spoon. So you have the ginger peeled really well at the end and also the whole thing is really fast.

So the next time you need to peel ginger, be sure to try this trick.

Thank you for sharing this! I've been doing this for decades, but very few ppl know about it. Also, my kids & grandkids LOVE candied ginger (or what turns out to be ginger chews). Just boil sliced ginger with equal parts water & sugar until the ginger is tender, then when the ginger is cooled, coat with sugar. Any left over sugar syrup is excellent poured over pancakes or waffles, or even added to a lot of Asian recipes. It keeps almost indefinitely in the fridge.

Easier/better - use the rough part of a sponge (that green part of a yellow & green sponge) or a metal pot scraper.

I have no waste in ginger....wet it scrape it like a carrot. No cut.
