The Best Hotel Hacks

"Hacks" has become such an overused term. Most of this is good advice or common sense. To me, hacks means a way of getting something that you wouldn't normally get. To me, none of these fall into the hack category.

Something else to be aware of us room service. It's awesome to have food brought to your room but it's costly. I found that out in Las Vegas when I ordered pancakes and bacon for breakfast. The total was $50.00 after all the fees and service charges were added in. When I was in Chicago I looked at my hotels room service menu and when I added up all those fees to the price of the hamburger I was going to order I walked down stars to the restaurant to dine.

Although temptation is high, I never eat the snacks and drinks from the minibar, nor do I use room service. Prices are expensive and we never know, how long those delicious and
so appealing snacks/drinks are there.

Pretty sure you shouldn’t bring a scented candle. Imagine being responsible for that fire.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING A CANDLE. They are one of the leading causes of death in hotels due to fire. Very ignorant to recommend that!

I work in a high rise massive hotel in downtown Denver and we really advise strongly against candles or anything that causes smoke. If your room has evidence of smoking or smoke we can charge you $250 smoking fee. If we find used matches bet you're going to be charged. So I'd recommend you edit this video and omit the candle recommendation.

Tip always the Staff. the Stay will be better so you get some extras and more allys you have so better your stay will be.

No candles. Hotel rooms have smoke detectors. TIP TIP TIP. We give upgrades and free stuff to people who are simply nice to us and treat us like humans. We HATE when someone starts a conversation/request by saying "I'm a diamond member..."

With bigger hotel companies, it helps to join their loyalty program book directly. You can avoid a lot of nasty things such as being walked. Also, if your not part of their loyalty program, you are far less likely to get things like early check in and room upgrades.

My friend somehow confused the front desk into checking him out 1 day into his 3 night stay and as a result after they did that, he rechecked in and as an apology, got a free upgrade to a King bed suite, he is awesome. I couldn't have thought of that. Idk if it works everywhere tho.
