Especially the last part! If you don’t go to university right out of high school, it’s not the end of the world. Take a gap year, work, go to trade/vocational school. Whatever! Uni will always be there and it’s ok to start later.

#3 is too true, I went to college and felt pretty lost, I didn't know what i wanted to do and I felt like I wasn't passionate enough in anything to pursue it as a career, this feeling only worsened during the pandemic when I couldn't really experience the "college experience". Took a semester off and started part-time work so I could earn money while I trying to think things over. Got a clearer mind and vision of what I'd like to do now.

Can’t agree enough with #3 👏🏼 I think a lot of people would do better if they didn’t have all that pressure on them to figure out the rest of their life so early on cuz let’s face it; we never really figure it all out 😂

I’ll be 26 at the end of the year and I’m just now getting in gear to start post secondary. While I’m a little sad that I’m behind a lot of my peers, I’m also happy that I have figured out what it is that I truly want to do. I want to go to school to study Horticulture, I absolutely love plants.

As someone who completed her masters and found a job in her field, but has been suicidal and unhappy every day since, this is advice I needed to hear after high school. Sometimes college isn't for you, sometimes you need a year (or more) off to realise what you want to do, sometimes you complete college and realise you don't want to do your major for the rest of your life and that's all okay! It's your life, make sure to live it for you.

Honestly as soon as my high school got over I was so nervous about college and the circumstances did not make it easier too. A year later, I'm now confident about college and actually so excited. I can't wait to experience it. Sometimes, a break is necessary. The society made it an absolute requirement to join college as soon as we complete our high school. A break is definitely better.Everything happens at the right time. Glad to find this vedio!

I definitely needed to hear these words so thank you! I’m going back to college this fall to do my master degree after a gap year. I feel extremely nervous about it because I’m scared of not being good enough academically 😣

I wish I knew this before going to college😭... It's true meet a lot of people, make memories and enjoy the events that you can only enjoy in college, don't be shy to meet people and enjoy youth because that will be a memory to enjoy after you graduate

I truly regret staying in my comfort zone in my college years

Things I Wish I Knew Before College:
- Make money. You should work to make money to do all of the things you think are fun when you aren't at work. A fulfilling career is a moving target and can make you feel restless and like you've made bad choices. Make the money and do the fun with that money.
- Don't skip class. No matter how much you drank the night before, or how crummy you feel do NOT skip class. It takes longer to learn on your own than it does to learn it half awake and sort it out later. School is so expensive and if you divide up the cost amongst class hours you'll want to barf about spending money to skip class.
- Drop out before you get into debt. Shit happens and sometimes you need to cut your losses and get into the workforce to dig out. You can always go back when you are financially stable again. Student loans should be a crime and the loans rack up interest so quickly.
- College might not be what you need in life. Trades make a lot of money! Lenders shove it down you're throat that you have to have a degree to be worth anything in life. Most people don't even work in the field of their major

Never knew i needed to hear that third advice so bad.
When I was in my first year in college, I actually decided to drop out and started thinking I wanna experience working and earn money before I continue my studies.
But my family, friends and relatives were always talking about me during reunions or hangouts. Like, "what a waste of your potential", "you could have better jobs".
I know they're saying that for my own good but I want it when I'm ready for it and really wanted it not being forced.

Now, I'm 25 and I decided to go back in college to earn my degree. This time, a bachelor course that I personally chose. Thank you Tiff!💕

thank you for telling me this because i plan on going to college right after hs (currently in 11th grade), if anyone is in hs, dont worry if u dont have alot of friends or if ur not popular, just focus on school so u can graduate and if u want get into a good college, college is where u will meet different kinds of ppl, rather than high school where everyone is sort of growing up and maturing over time, so have fun and dont get into too much trouble

I wish I would have seen this video before I went to college. College overall was a very negative experience that I never got right and often find myself regretting. I hope everyone has a better experience than me. 🙏🏻

Omg I totally agree with all of this!!! My little brother wants to rush his classes and my sister and I are like NO! Take your time and get the feel of college life and don’t just take hardcore classes, take light classes to feel some ease. And good luck to your bro
