How I studied for 3 hours and unlocked the key to drawing anime faces.

I recorded this when I was sick so please excuse my voice, it kept breaking over and over so I gave up and just talked higher.
I’ll try to subtitle it when I have time!

I neglected doing 'proper' studies for a long time, opting to just wing it and slowly get better. I mean, I did get better, but it took forever. What I didn't really get about studies was that you draw a lot and draw fast, not drawing some dude and spending 30 minutes redrawing his eyes/mouth until it looks "good." The fast, plentiful drawings is what gave me some (tons of, even) improvements... literally like fighting a bunch of enemies in a game and getting EXP.

There's still a ton I need to do, but I feel a lot less intimidated now. It doesn't need to takes weeks or months after all!

this video is more about leveling up your drawing skills, not starting from scratch. It's like a masterclass, you know? No wonder beginners might feel lost.
But let's be real, a lot of folks watching these tutorials are hoping to become Picasso after a 15-minute YouTube binge. Spoiler alert: even the pros are still grinding away at their craft.
Here's the thing - newbies often think it looks easy, but their expectations are way off. A pro might spend 5+ hours on one character, while beginners think they'll nail it in 20-40 minutes. Talk about expectation vs. reality! the Best Tips = practicing
this tutorial is legit awesome! It's been a game-changer for us.
getting that 3D structure is pretty much the secret sauce for killer art. Wanna nail light, shadow, perspective, and composition It all comes down to understanding that 3D
But here's the kicker - why do so many newbies skip this just 'cause they think they're drawing in 2D? Big mistake! That's how you end up with art that looks flatter than a pancake.
Trust me, dive into that 3D perspective stuff. Your art will thank you later

Studying for 3 hours give me the best improvement. EVEN BETTER if you take a break, and come back to it a few hours later or the day after because you really put it into your long term memory.

Your brain also works hard to consolidate all the things you've learned in those 3 hours when you sleep, so it also makes it easier and you even learn more. Absolutely fantastic video, exactly what I would recommend for ANYONE, beginner, intermediate or pro.

yo this really opened my eyes ngl, I've been learning from osmosis too, putting everything on autopilot and pretending to learn something trying to convince myself I'll get better that way, and this is a huge motivator for me now because if you can do it then so can I or its at least possible to do, thank you and keep getting better🙌

2:41 These notes are what actually helps. Why is there still no resource with notes for the face, anotomy, etc.? So you don't have to spend time creating rules for yourself that may not even work for all angles

0:31 so If I understood correctly, we rely on 3D visualizing technique for this study rather than drawing with no underlying structure aka: drawing for accuracy or from intuition
Please correct me if I'm wrong 😅
Edit: yup ignored....
