One thing I’ve found out is to relate it to the other person’s experience. It sounds simple but it’s powerful.

For example, if you’re explaining block chain technology to your grandma who only knows about cooking, you use cooking analogies to get the point across.

This technique is basically how I've studied for exams. I'm also trying to get my brother who's still in school to use it. I always say "write down what you know, and compare it with your notes" as a quick and simple way to see what topics you now inside and out and which ones you need to look at again.
