As someone who speaks in a monotonous way, the tone theory of speaking is something that I intuitively picked up on by practicing alone. And I'm telling you right now, it will release trapped emotions and bring out your expressive nature. Monotone comes from a pattern of self-suppression, so it lacks emotion, and it is also associated with a lack of facial expression as well because facial expression is based on intonation, and thus, the tone theory. There is an occult technology in the Qur'an, that when you express each letter in its proper tone, the spiritual nature of man will be expressed in a symphony of emotion. I am working on something that ties this to healing from trauma.

For me, I didn’t like my voice for a very long time. I know you probably never saw this coming but, practice is what helped me (what a surprise). I just kept on listening to shuyookh on my phone and did my very best to copy them, and within time, it actually paid off
