Well, turns out they don't really eat this in Ireland for St. Patrick's Day. But it's delicious, foolproof and simple to do in the crockpot while you do other things.

Gluten Free, Diabetic Friendly, Low Carb.

My grandma is from Ireland she uses a 12oz beer in the water with the cabbage corned beef and carrots. not Guinness beer by the way it has to be a light flavor, Murphys is what she uses. She said it helps give the meat a little better and veggies once it cooks for the few hrs!

Thanks for the video, good stuff. I always find that the grocery stores put corned beef on sale right after St Patty's day... Same thing for turkey after Thanksgiving.

Take the Spice Packets.? Cut them open, ? And place them in a Square piece of Cheese Cloth.? Tie it up into a little packet.? With some Butchers Twine.? And drop ot into the pot.? When done just fish it out & toss it.? This keeps from the Spices getting into the Cooked food etc.? I also add some Beer to my Corned Beef Pot.? Gives it a nicer flavor.? Along with the spices.?

Where are you getting corned beef for $1.99/lb? The cheapest in the Pensacola area is $3.99/lb

What year did you do this video?

You said that corned beef is about $1.50/lb! The cheapest I could find was $3.99/lb.

When I was a kid it was 15¢/lb. Fresh market here in Pensacola wants $4.99/lb. So sad for this meal to cost so much nowadays.

I always check all ads. So much for the free market. Corporations control! Consumers get screwed. Anyway, I got my corned beef and cabbage fix for this year.

Thanks for sharing your video.

Here's just alittle history, in the Old days in Ireland most really couldn't aford to eat beef, so they would eat bacon and cabbage and the wealthy DID eat Cornned Beef and Cabbage because they could afford Beef. Pork was much cheaper then Beef.
