In my experience they are aloof. Noble. Very careful who they show affection to. They know their job, which is to protect. Not entertain. Serious dogs.

Both arms on one side of the dog when laying down is so much better than around the neck. It shows they are comfortable with each other. Good job. Cute babies, human and canine.

The doberman is tolerating the child very well! But do not encourage a kid to hug any dog. Teach the kid how to properly give the dog affection. The dog is tolerating now, and it might be well behaved even. But you should never put a child or anyone at risk

My Doberman Jessica allowed my now adult son learn to pull himself up (he was a 28 week preemie). She intuitively knew people who had special needs and she was as gentle as a feather. Any dog given attack training shouldn't be a family pet. Thorough bred horses (I had 2) occasionally hear that starting bell if purchased at track auctions. I would rescue another doberman if I didn't already have 4 large rescues. Hounds are not as smart but they love my grandbabies.

They really are great with kids and people with other male dogs you need to watch but mine has never once even considered harming a human but other male dogs specifically it's a alpha thing sometimes

Please listen everyone. I see a lot of these videos of owners allowing their babies to interact with their dogs. For the sake of cuteness. Years ago I was 100% sure that pets will never turn on their owners, especially on babies, as dogs know their fragile. Until one day, my friend's 2 yr old tried to cuddle their Doberman while watching tv. The dog mauled her face, arm and legs like a rag doll. She lost 3/4 of her face and lost her ears. The right arm was ripped to shreds so they had to amputate it just underneath the shoulder. Her thighs has lost most tissue. Her left arm fingers gone. Her knees were chewed up she almost lost it too. It was absolutely horrific. It is the most tragic, tragic thing a parent can witness and up to now my friend and her husband has nightmares about it. My friends kept asking how this happened, they never believed their dog was violent. Why they allowed the dog to play with their baby??? Because they never ever thought the dog would flip. Because he was raised with so much love and he had a gentle nature and really loved the baby. The child is now 7 and needs support in almost everything. She has one eye and looks very disfigured. My friends are utterly devastated and live with the guilt everyday. As much as you think your dog is all loving and all, it CAN turn on anyone. Worse to a toddler. Most vets will advise you to not allow your dogs cuddle/ sleep/ talk with your child or whatever you think is cute. If your dog mauled your child, I guarantee it is going to be a lifetime of pain for you. So I really absolutely disagree parents doing this thinking it's cute
