Have you ever wondered what the first version of Windows looked like?

Windows, at this time, was a 16-bit, graphical, multitasking operating environment that ran on top of MS-DOS. In later iterations, it became a standalone operating system.

It's quite weird to think that when this was published, XP was still fully supported and used by so many, but is now a distant memory like 3.1 was of its time.

Fun Fact: That thing in the top left is still in windows to this very day! Click the app icon in the top left and you will see some shaded out options saying, move, icon and other things

Did you notice that some of the buttons have rounded corners, some (e.g. scrollbar) are square and the calculator buttons are octagon?

Back then this was revolutionary. Everyone was using keyboard inputs for everything and could only run one program at a time. Windows allowed for a point-and-click interface and the ability to run multiple programs simultaneously.

1:07. Huh. So I guess the "hamburger menu" was around a lot earlier than Android Lollipop, Windows Phone 10, or even the facebook app (which many attribute it's origins.)
