I use the 80/40/50 as a base and tinker from there. Just got the U8N 55" for Christmas. No dirty screen, incredible sound, and picture is crisp. Love it. Happy New Year

Just applied this to my 55” u8n and the colors look great, just like on my other devices (I watched on mobile prior to this purchase), thanks a bunch! Also managed to stop a screen flickering issue I had, which I suspected was because of all the “smart/intelligent” light adaption settings (which I was afraid to turn off because I worried the picture would look like trash afterwards) so this knocked out two birds with one stone. Thanks again!

Thanks! I have the 85” version and these settings gave me a great baseline and looked really good.

Thanks, Tech Steve-I was ready to give up on the U8N--65"Compared to my setting adjustments. and the stock set up that came. on the Hisense U8N -Your settings are perfection. I can't. understand why they are not calibrated out of the box-or at lease a acceptable calibration. The software setting were perfect for streaming and Cable viewing. Thanks Again, and for a nice presentation.

We just calibrated 2 identical 75U8N with Calman Studio (using the new C6 HD5000 and G1) - first, both TVs have vastly different picture (perhaps even different panels/tech) and settings out of the box. One needed to be on "warm1" to be close to 6500K, the other on "warm2" and so on. Additionally, the 'Hisense" Autocal in Calman simply didn't work well on either TV. It couldn't get a decent 2-pt whitebalance, completely messed up 20-pt and the result of using the 3D Lut calibration winded up with DE>15. Switching to a manual calibration and using the remote and OSD we got quite good results. I'm not sure if it's a firmware issue or something else but I think it's important for people to understand that using someone else's settings is almost never a good idea.

Thanks for this video. I just picked up a 65” on a Black Friday sale. I’m a hardcore physical media enthusiast and hoping this will be great for that. 🤞🏼🍀

I see the u8n is different in every size. The 85" has less local dimming zones. Does it make a difference compared to the 65" or it has black levels and contrast in the same level?

My 2 cents here after testing, tweaking and adjusting my Hisense U8N 65" for several hours.

- For one, the TV size is important. For example, the 55 inch does not have the same amount of dimming zones, which can have an impact on the settings. The 75 inch uses a different panel (ADS, instead of VA) and can also greatly impact the settings, especially the black levels and contrast.

- Warm1 is a BAD start, it turns everything into an unnatural yellow tint. Warm2 is MUCH better, still warmer than neutral but retains natural colors.

- Going extreme with the white balance is unadvized. +25 gain on green, -25 on blue? Sounds like an issue with the calibrating device or the TV itself. I never had to tweak more than +5 and -5.

- You said "Gamma calibration is set at 5%" which means NOTHING... The way gamma calibration works is by adjusting the gamma gain PER percent of input level. Anyway, this setting is hardly noticeable above 15% input level. You can try cranking the low 5 and 10% if you wish to uplift the darkest part of the image.

- For the Motion Enhancement to work correctly, you need your source to be played at native frame rate (eg. 24fps). If you hook a PC, make sure that your software player adjusts the frame rate to match the video's because the TV won't be able to discern the real movie frames within a 60Hz input rate. Kodi is an excellent free software with this option.

- The Motion Enhancement is one of the biggest let down on the Hisense. Coming from an old Sony Bravia TV set, I miss the Sony wizardry. I hate the sopera effect, but at the same time I hate the crazy judder. Finding the right balance is a bit of a challenge with this Hisense TV.

- There seems to be some subtle differences between the Picture modes, EVEN with the same setting values applied. I found that the IMAX Mode was brighter and had better color accuracy than FILMMAKER Mode so I went with the former mode for my HDR settings.

See below my recommended settings for U88N 65 inch.

Disclaimer: Mind you, I don't have a calibration device, I just went with what looked the best with the kind of content I am watching, ie. BluRay Remux, 2160p, either DV or HDR10. Some SDR content, especially old movies on BluRay in 1080p or WEB-DL from Netflix and Co.

Watching context: The TV is in a medium-lit room. All content are played on Kodi 21 Omega with framerate matching the source. HDMI output from a Radeon 7900XT using 4:4:4/RGB 10bit.

Hey Tech Steve!!🤜🏽🤛🏾 I don't know how to set any features on the U8N and mirroring, and can't seem to get my hands on the "User Manual" would you mention this in any upcoming

I put all these settings in on an 85u8n except white balance2 I don't have access to it I can access 22 but I didn't touch it... picture looks better... Cleaner no noise but color isn't quite popping I'll use this as a base line tho thx for the vid... Do you think I should put those values in the white22 setting

Should I just limit your changes to one setting or apply to all as would still want different setting options.

Hey, my friend, just bought U7N
He was asking me for calibration settings.
Will these U8N settings work on U7N? If yes, then I'll forward him this video of yours

I just got my 65u8n and some of the menus you went through had more options than I’m seeing. I checked and I’m on the latest software version.

Really appreciate these settings! Purchased the 65" on BF. Plugged these in today and to my eye the picture looks the best I've had it so far after endless tinkering the last couple of weeks. What do you recommend for 4K Blu Rays with a Dolby Vision layer?
