Thank you! You confirmed what I was afraid of, incompatibility. Apparently the watch factory reset does not reset the original firmware? I had a series 2 watch paired with my iphone 7, ios-15, no problem, at some point the watch firmware was updated while being used on ios15. I have since received a new watch and retired the old series 2 for my grandson to use on his older iphone 6 that only runs ios12.55, yes, the old series 2 watch firmware will not let me use it on ios12, even after a watch reset. bummer

I have a 6s iPhone that was paired to two watches the original watch and a series 4. I recently updated to the latest update for the phone and now my series 4 won't update. It gets as far as you're up to date 5.3.7 and won't go any further. So my series 4 is useless at this point. Is there any way to get the phone to go past that point? I think it's a software issue because I did all the other steps you said do. The watch does connect but it can't go further because of the phone.
