Today a couple of our friends saved some reptile eggs from some kids who were digging them up on a sandy beach. They brought them to us so we can incubate them and release once they've hatched. But the big question is... WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY?! Comment your guesses below!

I absolutely love how Emily treats the girls, with kindness and respect. She doesn’t treat them like they are babies, she speaks to them as knowledgeable people.

I love how they are so nice
Like most little kids i know would stomp on them
But these kids not only saved these eggs, but also found out they were reptiles, knew to look for veins, not to rotate them, and took them to a friend they knew would take care of them.
Props to them!

It's so heartwarming to see how you interact with these kids, Emily. You treat them as equals and rightful experts in the field, you give them credit and you encourage them. It's no wonder they're such compassionate conservationists when they've got such great teachers and this really gives hope that our planet is going to end up in great hands. Thanks for all that you do.

“The eggs were being predated by the worst predators, human beings” She’s right tho 😭

Smart kids to bring the eggs to someone who knows how to take care of them and has the licenses for it.

Kids: we found 49 eggs
Emily: we've put 48 in incubation
The one left over egg: (distressed egg noises)

Kudos to those girls for being brave enough to step in when they saw an animal being abused, and then being so smart in every step of how they solved the problem of protecting them. Those two are some good eggs. 😉

Those two girls just proved that "oh they're just kids" isn't an excuse.

WHAT KIND OF MONSTER COULD DESTROY INNOCENT, BEAUTIFUL EGGS?! Also, thanks to those girls. They are life savers... LITERALLY. They saved those turtles lives.

I’m imagining these girls finding these mistreated eggs and making all the kids go away. They probably thought “well now what” “hmmmm what about that reptile lady?”

hey I've done some research and I've found some info;

i have come to the conclusion that *the ping-pong shaped ones* are most likely to be *snapping turtle eggs* because of their roundness and *they are native to both Minnesota and Wisconsin.*

as for *the oval ones*, you said that they look like they were *laid just recently* right?
I've done some research and found that *painted turtle eggs are also oval-like in shape* and guess what?
*painted turtle eggs get laid around late spring and mid summer.*
which is around *June 20 - June 26!*
and this video was posted on *June 27* so there are pretty good odds that the oval ones are *painted turtle eggs.*
*they are also native to Minnesota and Wisconsin* too so i am pretty sure about this.

those round ones are 100% snappers, that spherical shape is a perfect characteristic of snapper eggs, id be willing to guess that these guys are fresh and hopefully survive. The oblong eggs are almost definitely map turtles, not sure which species but i’m pretty sure they are some sort of map turtles

It's sad how these eggs were thrown around. But at least they could save them. Like she always says "Incubate till there is no debate"!!

The kids in the video seemed like they knew what they were doing, which is great.

Edit: fixed a grammar mistake lol. Sorry.
