Scottie may be one of the only youtubers who uses shorts in the right way, instead of just posting tiktoks.

As a locksmith of 25 years, Scotty is 100% correct. For older vehicles, spray the pasenger side door lock too (it doesnt get used as much), ignition, truck....👍🏻

I sprayed it on my mother-in-law’s squeaky basement steps, works like a charm, the steps and her are very quiet now.

Can confirm. I haven’t been constipated since spraying my butt with WD-40

If you want the proper lock lubricant, use graphite powder. It won't attract dirt to lock mechanisms like an oil would. Graphite lubricant is the correct choice for locks.

I trust that Scotty knows ... but I was always told that liquid lubricants should NOT be used on locks b/c of the tendency for the lubricant to catch and harbor dust/dirt which acts to inhibit the workings of the lock.

I use WD-40 to floss my teeth and I spray it under my arms for deodorant. I’ve been doing it for 40 years now, no problems.

Removes adhesive residue like a champ, too!

I used it on my radio. My kids' fingers slip right off the knob.

That's right, Scotty.
I also use it on my joints before I go to sleep. I feel brand new again.

I worked for a guy who owned coin operated machines and he prohibited the use of WD40 in the coin apparatus because it would gum-up the works.

You are terrific! Our first 4Runner got to 399, 000 miles. We’re on our second 4Runner now, and we love it!

I put WD-40 in my locks about once a year and sometimes in the ignition switch, I also put some on the door hinges but lately I have used silicone.

I was told “never” to use WD40 in situations like this because it attracts all the airborne dirt and dust eventually clogging everything up.

Lock Smith Graphite

I sprayed WD40 on my motorcycle levers and that was a clear example of what I was told, I try to use dry lubricants ever since.

Good Luck 🍀 out there

Before applying any lubricant, confirm it won't dissolve the metal or rubber materials.

The guys that worked on WD-40 got off easy.
Not so much with the Formula 409 guys.

I’ve been doing this ever since I discovered WD-40.
I also use it on my house keys.
During the winter it will help to keep condensation off the locking mechanism so my locks don’t freeze - car and home.
