If you look at the SDS, it’s just alcohol (isopropyl and ethanol) with some propellant.

Does it damage the hub bearings when applied like that?

It’s good, but very expensive, use a small bucket/container under the rear mech to catch the run off.
Filter through a coffee filter and re use in your chain cleaner.

Wrong! Take the cassette off. Place in parts washer. Clean! Take apart cassette. Buff each gear to mirror shine! Re grease cassette with aviation grade grease. Reinstall cassette.

(This is why I get paid more)

Not bad, good to see WD is making bike specific aerosol. I prefer taking the wheel off and flossing the cassette with a cotton t shirt

i also use WD40. You can also try a gun cleaning fluid, which is practically no different, all the same ... only in a different package. Only after such cleaning you need to wipe the entire cotton chain well with a cloth so that there is not too much oil and that's it. Special chain oils are even worse than most for cleaning weapons or, for example, WD40 which of them is the best in terms of price.

If you want to kill your free-body, hub and BB bearings this is how you do it. All it takes is about 5 drops to easily reach your bearings and THEY ARE TOAST! You need to remove the cassette and chain and clean it with this WD product away from your bike in a plastic tub. Then wash and rise and your bearings will last for years, not weeks.
