Mabel Originally Died in Gravity Falls Season 2 (NEW Behind the Scenes Revealed)

Mabel met an unfortunate end during Gravity Falls Season 2, at least in an episode concept that was tossed away. Gravity Falls creative director Michael Rianda shared a bunch of behind the scenes on Twitter, from lost concepts and pictures to cool fun facts!

The deleted Gravity Falls scene features time travel surrounding future Dipper, but we know next to nothing about what happened to future Mabel. Could Alex Hirsch ever bring this story to life in a comic or video game? I wish.

Mabel DID actually get really close to actually dying.

Remember when Bill Cipher had the twins in his hand and was going "eeny meeny miney you" in order to decide which of them to kill?



Bill's eye actually landed on a shooting star when he went to snap his fingers.

Dipper would need some heavy heavy therapy, that's for sure. Despite their arguing at times, it's obvious that he's extremely close to Mabel, and the fact that he apparently CAUSES Mabel's death would definitely break him. I'm kinda glad they didn't go this route.

I think trying to prevent future Mabel’s death would have been really interesting! If the creators ever get to make that awesome video game they desperately want to make, I hope this is a concept they get to explore

I remember when Alex Hirsch posted “someone will die in season two” on twitter, and during mabel’s iconic “I trust you” scene, I thought she was the one who died
Then again we probably all thought it was dipper since the shapeshifter predicted his petrified wood pose in the northwest mansion...
I also thought soos, because zombies are dead....
Or it was hinting to Stan faking his death???....
But no, it was mayor befufftlefumpter; just anticlimactic

Seeing the title remind me of that one scene where Bill was choosing which twin to kill in front of Stanford, if Stanford didn't surrendered Bill would've killed Mabel first-

This legit sounds like a pretty solid plot point. Gravity Falls was always different from other cartoons, and it reveled in it. This kinda seems like it fits them really well.
