How To BACKUP And Use Backup Saves In Hollow Knight!

Knowing file management for saves is a crucial part of Speedrunning, and is a great tool for practice. In addition, nobody wants to lose their first save file!

- Default file location for saves:

C:\Users\*insert user name here*\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight

***Appdata is a hidden folder by default, so you will either need to paste the address directly or select "View Hidden Items" in File Explorer.

I copied over a save file from switch - and have the user1.dat file - but when I copy it to the PC Save folder in locallow, and then start HK it shows the save as corrupted. Do you know if any extra steps are needed when transferring saves *from* the Switch?

What should I do if the "Hollow Knight" folder is empty? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but I haven't found any folders with saves.

Thanks for this video! I personally get way too attached to my saves, so it's nice having a way to back them up that means i can start up a new game without deleting any of my 1st four playthroughs.

I cannot find said save files, in the location provided, all I have is txt files there. Is there something I am missing here? Anyone can help, I just lost a bunch of geo in queen's garden *sigh*

I struggled with this problem for so long: I had 3 bin.bak files for my user1 and they just never worked. I changed one to .bin by just renaming it and it just... worked.
