My first car was a 1969 Mach 1 with a 428 SCJ, it was a beast to learn in, but I loved it, it sucked gas at about 6 mpg and gas was more than an hour's wage in 1975. Mine was green, the guy who sold it to me put a massive set of Mickey Thompson 50s on Cragar SS deep dish wheels.

I love old cars. My first car was 69 Camaro. Cars you could work on. I also remember installing my distributor +/- 180 off when flames shot out of the carburetor after removing everything to replacing the intake gaskets.

My 69 cobra with the optional CJ cam would do 140mph in third and accelerate hard in fourth. Before I put the optional cam in it was through at 5800 tuning only 95 in third. If you ordered that optional camshaft you got 7000 RPMs out of the old dog and the power came on @ 5500 just about where the standard CJ cam was through. That made the difference. The CJ had medium riser heads, not low risers. I owned five and the all had identical heads to the 427 medium risers except for the CJ dual bolt pattern on the exhaust side. A 428 CJ turning 7000 is no joke. In a 68 falcon it’s a money maker on the street.

When I was little, my dad drove a '69 Torino GT 428cj fastback. His uncle down the street built a black' 68 fastback (iirc, the 428cj wasn't available from the factory until '69). My dad said that it would beat 428cj Mustangs because the long wheelbase helped traction, in those days of bias tires.

Unfortunately, my dad sold it during the gas crisis to a teenager who totalled it.

I still think the fastback Torino is the best-looking car of the era.

On the 69 Cobra, the 4 speed was standard. The C6 was optional.

Not "Mac", "Moc", spelled Mach. Like the air speed of fighter jets. Not the hamburger at McDonalds.
sheesh.

Sorry but you are wrong on #1. The Cougar was heavier than the Mustang and Hot Rod Mag got the 68.5 CJ Mustang down to a 13.20. Also the Cougar you quoted was driven by Dyno Don Nicholson. The car was bone stock, but having a professional driver made a huge difference. Before Don took the wheel, the guy before him could only get to the 13.50's. Don launched the car once or twice, then drive out to the pits and did several smoky donuts to "soften up the sidewalls" of the tires. The very next run was the 13.23 you quote. The Hot Rod 68.5 CJ Mustang was driven by a competent driver, but he was no "Dyno Don Nicholson." Also you ignored the CJ Cobras built by Shelby..

I wonder if 400hp or more just kicked at the pot by stupid 4 speed transmission that only allow maximum speed about 120mph. For nowdays standart that cars must swapped that gearbox to 5 or 6 speed with overdrive like nowdays muscle cars.

I'm a Ford man, and love 428's. Your AI narration, however, is horrible. It ruins the video. I simply don't understand why you can't read a script yourself. How hard can it be? I won't be watching another of your un-listenable creations.
