Which is the best metal detector? Minelab vs Garrett

Is there really a difference between the various brands of metal detectors? Is a property ever detected out? After using a Garrett AT Gold for many years, I decided to buy a Minelab Equinox 800. I then went back to some older properties that I had detected before (other people had hit them too). You'll be amazed what I found!

What I do to compare 2 different Metal Detectors is to hunt with your newest detector & when you think that you found a good target, Take your other/older detector & go over it & see what that 1 says on the meter. It's a lot more work, But it will show you what is really happening because you could have missed your target by an inch or two & that's why your older detector never saw it. Just a thought for you to try it. Very nice video. :)

hit lots of silver with my old whites idx pro garrett at pro use 13 inch coil found copper ajuster brass ajuster for a kersine lamp from 1800 live in this house still have not run out of targets home was built from civil war he fought in home from 1890

You have to remember when everyone does these videos that say look what this found on this property I detected before HAVE to keep in mind you’ll hardly ever go over the same ground the same way in the exact location so what you didn’t pick up before may just as well been a piece of ground you didn’t go over so unless you bring the detector you used before and only after the new one hits a target then swing the old one over it if it hits then you know you just hit an undetected piece of ground 9 times out of 10 that’s the case

I have an AT Max and an Equinox 900, I've found a lot with each. The 900 has more programable features and is much lighter to swing.

Hard to say if you did not swing your at max over exact same ground area as signal found in video. For definitive proof, you should've brought the at max along at the same time.

Problem is hard to compare the AT Gold isn't quit the coin unit as a lower frequency

My first machine was a garrett ace 250, i never bought another garrett after that. Fisher, minelab, XP and Nokta all better machines.

Seems like the Minelab Equinox 800 is the one to go with, if all those other detectors are missing all those coins.

Get what you can afford and master it. Garrett's ok, Nox lineup is great, if you can swing it Deus2 will out preform the Nox (first hand experience been detecting 30 years) From what im hearing the Deus2 & Manticor are pretty much on the same playing field.

You made two crucial, fundamental mistakes:
1. you assume the ground never changes so if you detected it once it's done
2. you titled it as a comparison but your entire content is showing your signals...no check with the Garrett. sad
