The Moroccan-Songhai Conflict is the only conflict that appears in the AP WORLD HISTORY MODERN curriculum TWICE!!! And who better to help us out today than internet legend STEVE HEIMLER. So, today we break it down in our #10thANNIVERSARYSPECTACULAR. Featuring a look back at our first ten episodes, special guests, and I wore a suit. Oh. And, we cover both aspects of the Moroccan-Songhai Conflict.

Contextualization is easier than I thought it would be...

My niece sent me the following text:
"look up freeman pedia on youtube. it's a bald guy with a beard. whenever my teacher plays his videos i feel like i’m talking to you."

So I checked out some videos... and I now realize what a compliment that was.

As a fellow awesomely bearded (though hippie haired) lover of history, I appreciate anyone who passes a passion for history on to others.

Thank you.

This is legitimately one the only things I’m gonna miss about AP World. I’ve got the test well.... today I guess and by finishing the 80 day countdown and this, I’m gonna miss watching these videos. Unless I watch new ones even when I don’t have to....

A few things. This topic is pivotal for several reasons. From what I have read Songhai had 18k soliders at most. What did them in was the cattle they used to stampede their enemies retreating from gun fire and running over the Songhai soliders. 2. The fall of Songhai caused massive migrations towards coastal regions along with the rise of several smaller kingdoms fighting for control which ripened Africa for the Trans Atlantic Slave trade. Morocco literally dropped the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.

Morocco and England had allied against Spain in the late 1500's. Which long-term process or development best explains why they did so?

As European maritime empires expanded, the English had colonized Morocco.

The rise of standing, professional armies made war a more common occurrence in Afro-Eurasia.

Religious conflicts in Europe led to the adoption of Islam in some European states.

Political and economic competition between European states led to a shifting patchwork of alliances.
any help please lol
