People Wait 90 MINUTES for This Tsukemen… I Had to Try It

The Hokkaido Ramen Series continues—and this time, I go all in before lunch, pulling off a ramen hat trick with three shops back-to-back in Sapporo.

1. First up is a tasty niboshi (dried fish) ramen, something you don’t often see in this city known more for miso.

2. Next, I swing by a shop serving a lighter, more Tokyo-style shoyu ramen—delicate, refined, and all about subtlety.

3. And then... the main event. I line up with the locals at a tsukemen spot that’s known for its intense seasoning and super thick noodles. But there’s a catch: the wait is 90 minutes. Was it worth it?

To round out the day, I switch things up and grab some classic soup curry—a Sapporo staple and the perfect way to wind down.

I still don't get how you haven't hit it big yet. Love the series Frank & 1000% when I do eventually get to Japan I will be using your videos as a guide to where to find the best ramen!

You should try Tsukemen Suzume in Osaka. Get the spicy level 3. Best dish in Japan.

Great video as always Frank. I don't know if you ever mentioned it, but why do you like Sapporo so much? Is it because of the weather and food options? Is there a specific reason? Thanks!

How you can have more than one bowl of ramen per meal is beyond me... The most i've done are the mini bowls at the Ramen Museum in Shin-Yokohama
