DERMAROLLER AT HOME By Dr Rashmi Shetty

Derma rollers are small rollers with a cylinder covered in small needles, normally varying between 0.5-3mm in length. It is an original tool for healing acne scars in dermatology. In 1990s, scientists observed that causing micro wounds in the outermost layer of skin induces production of collagen, as the skin tries to repair itself. This micro-wounding produces collagen, the main building material in connective tissues that makes up our skin – but also the lining of the hair follicle sack.

It is not advisable to use dermaroller at home for your hair growth.

Why not-at home

• Not knowing the right size needles to use.
- possibility of infection is more
- scaring
- not right pressure and technique leads to track impression
•Not knowing how to use the roller properly
•Not knowing when to stop
•Not having the adjuvant treatment available that providers may use to see results, such as platelet-rich plasma and right actives
• Wounds
• Hair tangling which will cause more hair loss
• Forehead acne
• Redness
• Itchiness
• Bruising
• Swelling
• Pain

While it’s tempting to buy your own dermaroller, it’s much safer to leave these devices in the hands experienced professional for your hair loss treatment. #dermaroller #hairroller #micro-needling #hairloss #skintips #porereduction #beautybloggers #drrashmishetty #skinexpert #beautyexpert #skindoctor #microneedling #dermaroller #beautytools #beautytool # Shorts

if you notice any signs of irritation, redness, increased sensitivity, or discomfort while using the derma roller, it's advisable to stop using it immediately. Give your skin time to recover before considering another session

I did microneedling with my dermatologist, had 3 sessions, it doesn’t work on my minor scars. I feel like if u know how to use n disinfect properly than better to do at home m save bucks. Nothing extra special at clinic.
They put numbing cream, microneedling n done

I went to a certified dermatologist for my severe acne when i was a teenager and grew up without any confidence. The derm gave me vitamin a cream to put bit did not tell me how ro apply it properly. I ended up damaging my skin, he didnt tell.me to put suncream or how to apply only at night, and how to not apply everyday. He was happy when i damaged my skin and was back to him. Took 500 rs consultation fee everytime and paid huge for medicines that were not making any differenceratger destroyedmy skin more. I was student so my middle class parents had to squeeze out money for everything. Still no help coz not telling proper way to use. When i researched and took things in my own hands and thanks to tik tok and other resources, i have glass skin now. I kind of hate doctors now.

Thanks for misleading people. I am doing it with amazing results. Just remember to sanitize your dermaroller properly.

I did it myself. 2.0m along with hyaluronic acid. Needed numbing cream which i got from the pharmacy. Sanitise the needle with isopropyl alcohol 70%.
Have done it twice in the span of 3 months. Stretch marks have lighten. Will continue to do it every 6 weeks. It is a home device. Everything was under 1000 rupees including hyaluronic acid which I'll use for the next sessions too
