While there are many videos talking about increasing your vertical jump, they typically are just guys who can jump high and want you to practice various jumps ... and sell you their "jumping program".

This video explains in detail the science behind jumping and how you can train smarter to increase your vertical jump to rebound the basketball with much more ease. And, of course, those increased inches of vertical jump will help you block shots, elevate more on your jumper and even get above the rim for dunks.

There are plenty of scientific studies, demos and explanation given to show you this is how to definitively increase your vertical jumping power.

Great video man. Really enjoyed it. I gave up bball about 5 years ago. Ive since spent most of my time training for strength mainly with the big 3. My squat and deadlift has doubled but when i occasionally go to a bball court to shoot around, my jump is the same it was before the weights. I think thats because i havent trained jumping at all. And also im about 15kg heavier. That doesnt help.
I guess ive had more then 12 weeks of a strength block lol. Now i need 3 years of power training to make up for it heheheh.

Love that you used actual science to teach this. So many videos are just clickbait nonsense. I hope you get some traction on these videos from young hoopers.

I’ve been looking for a video talking about rebounding and exercises that help, Thanks so much. I just a have a few questions to ask regarding the exercises we should be doing. For Olympic lifts (Snatches, Hang Cleans, Power Cleans), isn’t there a higher chance of it leading to injury rather than improving athletic performance due it’s learning curve? Couldn’t we just replace it with another safer movement like a med ball toss or a trap bar jump?
