Signing up to be a church member is like signing up to s club where you have membership dues (tithes) and activities to do there. Your expected to be there faithfully too.

This is good and Biblically accurate - with one minor exception; Jeremiah is concerning the future covenant with Israel (the House of Jacob). Try finding another verse to make your point. It is Scriptural. but another verse would be more appropriate, Thanks

I agree. Membership is all you hear them teach. It seems ALL of them teach it. I’m so tired of pastors teaching tradition instead of scripture.

Actually the new covenant sometimes referred to as the 2nd covenant was between Jesus Christ & God the Father.
Unlike the first covenant between Israel and God, we had nothing to do with the new covenant. All we must do
is believe.

This seems far too broad a brush for this topic. Just because something isn't explicitly defined in the bible doesn't mean it is unbiblical or against the bible.
Now, I understand you are dealing with people who have suffered abuse at the hands of wolves and a tool they used may have been membership, but the membership isn't the problem.
Memberships have practical purposes, such as voting on different matters concerning the whole congregation.
Mature church leaders and mature church congregants are required to have any healthy relationship regardless of the use of a roll or membership.
