Wonderful! I enjoyed your second method - it felt clean.

I realized that the denominator of both the real and imaginary coefficient will also be a² + b² and some quick algebra gave me the numerators intoerms of the coefficients. It's actually super easy to jump immediately get to the answer by plugging in the values into the equation.

I think I'll practice that for a bit.
